But, whatever it is called it will not happen again until 2015. So, get out tonite and enjoy it, I know I will be. Have a wonderful weekend and a great Labor Day.

Not So Busy Week

Good Monday Morning, This week will bring a slower pace for Les and myself. Last week we were setting up a auction which took place on Friday, but not this week.

This morning we will head out to a work aquanitance of mine who has sold her home and has some "stuff" we may be interested in. Her husband has collected tools and what have you over the years, so we will see. Lately we have been pretty selective in what we are purchasing due to the economy. People are having a hard enough time filling the gas tank and putting food on the table. So, the last thing they need to buy is collectiables and antiques.

We will be getting guests, both family and friends later this month so we are not without things to do. We also are saving our energy for one last BIG auction for our friends who we have been doing a house cleanout for. This will be the last of three auctions we have had for them.

Have a great day and a great week if I don't get back here to say Hello.

THREADS.....The magazine

How many of you remember this magazine? How many are addicted to magazines and cannot throw any away? How many of you still have Threads Magazine from Oct./Nov. 1985 (Premier Issue) thru Aug./Sept. 1991? Well I can answer YES to all of the above questions. But, it is time to get rid of stuff and Threads is one of the items that will be leaving my office closet. I tried selling them a few years back and I could not. But, that was before I blogged and now I will offer them to you my friends. It is a total of over 30 magazines and a quick look thru and it does appear that I am missing any, so they are complete years. I would like to get $30.00 for all plus shipping. If you are inerested in them, please e-mail me @ duckslady@gmail.com. I will keep them until Wednesday August 8th, 2012. Garbage man comes bright and early Thursday morning and as much as it will pain me I have to let them go. Have a great Saturday!!

Cool Baths & Frozen Peas

The above title says it all, for The Duck Hilton that is!! Many of you know that I have ducks and did raise quite a few at one time. I am down to just three senior ducks now. Two girls, they are Black Ducks, hence our antiques business name and one male, who is a Pekin. Danger Duck, the Pekin is older then the girls and does not get around real well. He is blind in one eye and is pretty lame. So, sometimes he gets stuck in corners, etc. and just waits for me to find him and help him out. With all of the hot, humid weather we have been having I have taken to putting him in our laundry tub filled with cool water. Oh, what a blast he has!! :-). My two girls can still get around and they take care of themselves with a plastic tub of water. But, while DD is getting his bath, he and the girls get frozen peas as snacks. OMG, who knew that was the next best thing to sliced bread, or at least my ducks think so. So, if you have ducks maybe even chickens try the frozen peas, I like to think it is to them what a ice pop is to us. Have a wonderful evening and great weekend my friends.

Happy August, Full Moons, Lammas Day

Happy August!! Boy, the Summer is flying by for us, but that is okay, keeping busy keeps us young, lol.

Today August 1st is also one of two full moons this month. Full Moon today is called the Full Sturgeon Moon, named this because it was when this large fish found in the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain was caught easliy at this time.

Today is also Lammas Day. Lammas Day marked the beginning of the harvest.

Hope you have enjoyed these bits of information all from my favorite, Old Farmers Almanac.
