Full Moon

Happy Tuesday! A very cold but sunny day here in Eastern PA. Woke up to 12 degrees with wind chills below zero. But, there is nothing we can do about it except to move forward.

Tonite is a full moon. The full Snow Moon or Hunger Moon. Once the clouds parted last nite the almost full moon certainly did reflect off the snow so if it stays clear tonite I am sure we will be in for another moon lit night.

February's full Moon is called the Snow Moon because it was a time of heavy snow (yes). It was also called the Hunger Moon because hunting was difficult and hunger often resulted. And there you have another fun fact from my favorite, The Old Farmer's Almanac.

If you go out to view the moon, be sure to dress warm.

Have a good evening my friends.

Catch-up at Ginnysyard

It has been over a month since I last posted. I read everyone's blog but just didn't have the get up and go to post on mine :-(. But last nite I was going thru my blog roll and realized that one of my favorite blogs was no longer in operation, So, I got thinking I better hold on to the 21 followers that I have and give you ladies a update.

So, since I last posted this is what has happened;

Les and I celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary, not sure where all those years went!

We now have a new great, great niece named Teagen Lakota, that is a mouth full. Baby and Mom are doing good.

Mother's Day, Family and Friends Birthdays.

Full Strawberry Moon, I hear local strawberries are in, need to get some of those.

Booked our Late Spring/Summer schedule with our two auctioneers. Boy are we going to be busy bees :-).

Got the screened porch pretty much ready for some serious porch sitting with family and friends.

Memorial Day of which Les and I worked two auctions that weekend.

And now we are smack in the middle of a heat wave, in the SPRING!!

Coming up for us is work tomorrow, a pick-up with one of our auctioneers.

Les's Birthday on Monday.

A fun filled June with auctions o'plenty, lol.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day and weekend.

I really am going to try to do better, but you will notice I did not mention my yard. Can anyone guess what did not get done this past month.

Happy August, Full Moons, Lammas Day

Happy August!! Boy, the Summer is flying by for us, but that is okay, keeping busy keeps us young, lol.

Today August 1st is also one of two full moons this month. Full Moon today is called the Full Sturgeon Moon, named this because it was when this large fish found in the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain was caught easliy at this time.

Today is also Lammas Day. Lammas Day marked the beginning of the harvest.

Hope you have enjoyed these bits of information all from my favorite, Old Farmers Almanac.

Full Harvest Moon

Tonight, Septemeber 12th is the Full Harvest Moon. The Harvest Moon is always the full Moon closet to the autumnal equinox. If the Harvest Moon occurs in October, the September full Moon is usually called the Corn Moon. Seeing as the autumnal equinox is on the 23rd of September, I believe this will be our Harvest Moon. Hope it will be clear where you are so that your can check it out. I know I will be if the clouds will go away!

Happy Fall Everyone

But, it was more like Summer today. Low 80's and a bit humid, tomorrow should be more humid!! Then we are back to more seasonable temps for the weekend. Les and I have been quite busy with our Antique Shows and going to auctions, flea markets and yard sales to re-stock. We have had some really good shows all Spring & Summer and the Fall looks to be just as promising. On Saturday we are heading back to the town we grew-up in, Metuchen, NJ. There is a rummage sale that we are told we should not miss and then the whole town is having a town wide Yard Sale!! Sounds like fun. We may even meet up with my sister and have lunch. This is just a short post, but I hope to get back in to the swing of blogging again real soon. Enjoy your weekend. P.S. My calendar tells me it is a Full Harvest Moon tonite, I gotta go see if is out, it was pretty cloudy before.

Once In A Blue Moon & A Cute Camper

Happy New Year Friends. Well, it happens every 19 years. Two full moons in one month, hence once in a blue moon. The first full moon of this month was on Dec. 2nd and was also called the Full Cold Moon. Tonight's full moon is called Full Long Nights moon. What a night to have the full moon on, New Year's Eve!! Enough goes on tonite without the full moon. So, use caution if traveling about. Here in Hellertown, PA we had snow this a.m. And boy did it come down for a couple of hours, caught everyone off guard I'm sure. Hopefully the roads will be in good shape for traveling tonight.

Cute idea for retail space

This link is for all my retail friends, it shows you how to have extra space for all the country and primitives items that you carry.

All you need now is a camper. It really is too cute.

Les & I hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Year!!

Full Cold Moon

Good Evening All, tonite we have the first of two full moons in the month of December. Tonite's is the Full Cold Moon. Strange, the weather weenies say that during the night tonite the temperature will rise, yet it is the Cold Moon. We won't see the moon here in North East PA tonite, do to the rain that started to fall at about 4:00. Les and I started to move some furniture, etc. around today to make room for furniture that did not sell at the Antique Show this past weekend. We need to bring in a blanket chest and a crock bench. Over the next few months we will be listing items for sale on our e-crater store, once it is all set up, I will list the address for you to check out our wares. Well, I have some blogs to read and then it's time to get ready for bed. Have a good evening.
